Using carbon steel vessels?

Is there any reason not to? I know stainless is a better choice as far as material quality but there any real downside to useing carbon steel seperation vessels

  • Rusts easier, does not weld as easily. 304SS and 316SS are going to have higher corrosion and chemical resistance and their lower carbon content makes welding much easier.
